Montessori programs for ages 1 to 6

Each stage of childhood brings new possibilities. Our Toddler’s House and Children’s House environments support children as they develop independence, communication and a growing interest in the world around them.

Toddler's House

Ages 1 to 3

Child exploring a latch board on a classroom mat.

The toddler years are full of movement, discovery and the desire to do things independently. Teachers guide children as they build language, practice coordination and learn to care for themselves and their surroundings. Children have time to repeat activities and grow more confident. We consider each child’s readiness and development when discussing placement with your family.

Children's House

Ages 3 to 6

Child holding a wooden frame with hanging counting beads.

Children’s House gives children time to deepen concentration, build friendships and explore new ideas. Hands-on activities help them develop language and early math skills, notice shapes and textures, discover nature and practice everyday tasks. Our teachers guide children as they become more independent and learn to care for their classroom community.

How is Montessori different?

Many traditional classrooms introduce lessons to the whole group at the same time. In Montessori, children receive individual or small-group lessons and choose from activities their teacher has introduced. They can spend more time practicing a skill or move ahead when they are ready, within clear routines and boundaries. Teachers observe closely, guide progress and introduce work across the classroom, helping children explore every area of learning.

What Montessori learning can look like

Everyday tasks help children practice care and independence. Exploring size, shape and texture helps them notice differences and make connections. Stories, letter sounds and counting build a foundation for reading and mathematics. Learning about plants, animals and the wider world encourages curiosity.
